Producers & Buyers Plot Recovery From Worldwide Recession
LIVE RECORDING WITH Q&A from Tuesday 29 September 2009

ABOUT THIS WEBCAST
The $12.5 billion global soda ash market is being affected by the recession and a downturn in the demand for glass from the construction and automotive sectors. Rapid growth in the developing economies is expected to return but full recovery may take several years.
Many regional factors have evolved out of the dramatic economic turmoil initiated in 2008, and key countries have taken major actions to keep hold in this unstable environment. China has boosted exports by some 25% this year, at a time when demand has fallen by a similar number in many major markets. However, the latest indications are that the US exporters are now fighting back to recapture lost market share. How will this rivalry influence market balances in key regions such as Asia and North America?
As markets remain volatile, many find it difficult to get a read on contract settlements for the end of 2009 and into 2010. In this webcast Harriman Chemsult consultants will unveil the full global picture and their insight into market trends and developments at this critical buying and selling period.
