Stephen W. Harriman, B.Sc., M.A.
Stephen founded Harriman Chemsult in 1985; in 2006, the company was acquired by Access Intelligence Inc. As Publishing Director he has overall responsibility for the editorial side of the business. He edits the Chlor-Alkali Report and contributes to the Vinyl Chloride Report. In addition he is regularly involved in single client studies on Chlor-Alkali and Vinyl Chloride. Stephen graduated with a B.Sc. Agricultural Economics from the University of Reading and an M.A. Agricultural Economics from the University of Leeds. His career started in agrochemicals and he had eleven years experience in chemical market research prior to forming his own consultancy. During this time he was Manager of the Fertilizer and Raw Materials Department at the British Sulphur Corporation. He initiated the Fertilizer and Chemicals Services at Commodities Research Unit. Finally, he established the Chlor-Alkali, Vinyl Chloride and Methanol Services at Tecnon UK.

Andrew Brown, B.Sc., M.Sc.
Andrew is General Manager at Harriman Chemsult. He assists with production of the company’s single client work and multi-client reports, which have recently included European Hydrochloric Acid, Chlor-Alkali in China, PVC in China and World Chlorine and Caustic Soda. He is also responsible for various aspects of the Chlor-Alkali Report and Vinyl Chloride Report. Andrew had five years of experience in market research prior to joining Harriman Chemsult in 2001, including analysis of metals, minerals, and chemicals markets at Roskill Ltd., and research of platinum group metal markets for the Precious Metals Marketing division of Johnson Matthey Plc. He also worked in the shipping sector. He has degrees in Geology and Industrial Mineralogy from Luton and Leicester Universities.

Michael G Beal, B.Sc., M.Sc., DpBA
Mike has degrees in Chemistry from Manchester University and a Business Management diploma from Manchester Business School. Mike worked in market research, marketing and product management in the chemical industry at Laporte and Solvay-Interox in the 1980s; his latter position there was Product Manager, UK for Hydrogen Peroxide and inorganic Persalts. Mike first joined Harriman Chemsult in 1990 and has in the intervening years completed a large number of consultancy assignments across a range of markets. In the mid-1990s Mike also worked for two years at the Development Bank in Saudi Arabia (SIDF) where he carried out due diligence for (mainly petrochemical industry) projects applying to the bank for soft loans. Mike recently returned to Harriman Chemsult as its Manager for Single and Multi-Client Studies.

Roger Pechey B.Sc.
Roger is senior analyst of soda ash markets and covers global supply-demand issues for this product in the monthly Chlor-Alkali Report. Prior to this, Roger was Harriman Chemsult’s manager of single and multi-client research and thus has experience of all the product sectors in which the company has an interest. Roger was also for a number of years Editor of the Bleaching Chemicals Report with particular responsibility for sodium chlorate markets. Before joining Harriman Chemsult, Roger worked for IAL Consultants and was involved in a wide range of single and multi-client research assignments in the plastics and chemicals sectors. Roger is a graduate of Brunel University.

Henry Warren, B.A.
As manager of Vinyl Chloride Services, Henry is responsible for Harriman’s monthly Vinyl Chloride Report, as well as the Vinyl Europe Chemsult Week report. Focussing on EDC, VCM and PVC, his role includes the coverage and analysis of these markets. Prior to joining Harriman Chemsult in 2001, Henry worked for five years in market research for ICIS-LOR, based mainly in London and on secondment for a year in Houston. During his time there he was in charge of a various chemical markets including polyolefins, intermediates and solvents. He holds a degree in European Business Studies from the University of Humberside and is a fluent Spanish speaker.

Linda Nocera, MChem.
Linda is the Editor of the Chlor-Alkali Europe weekly report and is responsible for the European sections of the Chlor-Alkali Report on caustic soda and HCl. Prior to joining Harriman Chemsult in 2005, Linda had two years’ experience in scientific publishing, working in the editorial team of the European Journals of Inorganic and Organic Chemistry at Wiley-VCH in Germany. She is a graduate of the University of Sheffield and also spent one year as an Erasmus student at Toulouse University in France. Linda is fluent in four European languages.

Haley Rowe B.Sc.
Haley Rowe is Harriman Chemsult's Database Manager. Haley is Harriman Chemsult's Database Manager. She is responsible for managing the company's comprehensive database which includes producers of chlor-alkali, vinyls and various other products, price series, trade data, and supply-demand information. Haley is in regular contact with informed industry sources on a global basis. Prior to joining Harriman Chemsult in 1995, Haley was the Statistics Manager at British Sulphur for nearly ten years where she was responsible for the implementation and management of the replacement statistical database. Haley is a graduate in Economics from Loughborough University of Technology.

Stephanie Koenig, (Dipl.-Kffr.)
Stephanie analyses the European markets for caustic potash and caustic soda for the monthly Chlor-Alkali Report, specializing in East European countries. She also investigates and writes the Sodium Chlorate section covering global markets for the monthly Bleaching Chemicals Report. Prior to joining Harriman Chemsult in 2007, she gained experience as a Research Assistant in Cape Town in the tourism industry. Stephanie, originally from Germany, has a degree in Business Administration from University of Leipzig in Germany and attended a part of her studies at University of Hasselt in Belgium within the Socrates-Erasmus Exchange Programme.

Mary Ellen Brady B.A.
Mary Ellen is Harriman Chemsult’s Manager of Chlor-Alkali Services America and has extensive experience in commodity journalism. She is responsible for Harriman Chemsult’s weekly Chlor-Alkali Americas service and contributes to the Chlor-Alkali Report on hydrochloric acid and potassium hydroxide. Prior to joining Harriman Chemsult in 1994, Mary Ellen had five years’ experience with British Sulphur Corporation covering the US agribusiness market for its weekly publication; she also spent five years with McGraw-Hill in Washington writing and reporting for a variety of weekly oil and chemical journals. She is a graduate of the University of Illinois with a degree in business journalism and a minor course of study in geology.

E. Leon Johnston, B.Sc.
Leon began his association with Harriman in January 2003 and has more than 40 years’ experience in the chlor-alkali industry. He is a consultant working on single- and multi-client studies and also contributes to Chemsult Week Americas and Chlor-Alkali Report. Leon's entire career was spent with Vulcan Chemicals and consisted of 11 years basic chemical research followed by over 30 years in the marketing department at the company. His marketing experience included caustic soda, chlorine, hydrochloric acid, hydrogen chloride and potassium hydroxide. This was followed by a period as Business Manager for Vulcan's caustic soda and potassium hydroxide product lines. Leon is a graduate of Wichita State University with a degree in chemistry.

Vincent Ooi B.Sc.
Vincent Ooi leads Harriman Chemsult’s operations in Asia and is based in Thailand. He has been with the company since September 1996 and covers the chlor-alkali and vinyl sectors in the Asia Pacific region for Harriman Chemsult’s monthly and weekly reports. He has also assisted with the production of single- and multi-client studies. Vincent previously worked in various industrial chemical trading sectors and is a graduate of Campbell University, North Carolina, USA, where he majored in Chemistry and Biology.

Gwo Burne
Gwo Burne is based in Malaysia and is responsible for gathering Chinese market information on Harriman Chemsult’s core products. He helps promote and develop Harriman Chemsult’s business in China and also provides client services in the region. He graduated in Law from the University of Hull and obtained a Masters Degree from the China University of Political Science and Law in Beijing.

Bernard Law B.Sc.
Bernard Law is responsible with his colleagues in Asia for providing the regional coverage for Harriman Chemsult’s Chlor-Alkali Report. Prior to joining Harriman Chemsult in 2005, Bernard had 12 years of commercial experience in multinational chemical companies in Asia, covering both speciality and commodity chemicals for the Asia Pacific region. He has a degree in chemistry and mathematics from the University of Malaya and is based in Malaysia.

Joao Cataldo
Joao Cataldo is a chemical engineer graduated from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. He has an MBA from the University of Western Ontario Canada. Joao began his career with Du Pont do Brasil in the planning and developing area. He had also worked for several years for Exxon Chemical, Schering and Braskem in the finance , marketing and development areas. He joined Harriman Chemsult in 1999 and is currently responsible for the South American market.

Donna Todd, B.A.
Donna has been with the company since June 2005; since joining, Donna has researched and written weekly and monthly reports on PVC and finished pipe. Donna has 18 years’ experience as an editor and market analyst in commodity chemicals, covering North American markets in olefins, polyolefins, styrenics, fertilisers and other chemicals. Donna is also provides sales support for Harriman reports. Donna is a summa cum laude graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Select Student degree in English and Political Science, with a minor in Communications.
