NORTH AMERICA
Chlor-Alkali: US caustic soda prices in the domestic and export markets continue to decline to a level that was unthinkable even a few weeks ago.
Vinyl: There is no interest in higher EDC production; despite positive netbacks the upward pressure on chlorine is greater.
EUROPE
Chlor-Alkali: The gap between contract and spot prices is widening, and this is creating tension in the marketplace.
Vinyl: EDC is tight and firm; additional production has been cut, there is extra demand and exports continue to make sense.
ASIA
Chlor-Alkali: Asian spot prices have declined further to $170-200/dmt fob.
Vinyl: EDC prices have increased to the low $400s/mt cfr South East Asia.
